Service Description: The extents (footprints) of all NOAA ENC charts (also called cells) are being reschemed into a gridded layout. The existing layout is based on the irregular shapes of the paper charts from which the ENC were originally created. A new gridded layout for NOAA ENC cells has been designed for some scales of ENCs and is still being developed for others. This map displays the original ENC extents (as of May 2019), the extents of the new ENC cells that will be created, and the status of the new ENC cells as they are released to the public.
